In the UK today, the link between how much your family earn and how well you do in school and in life is stronger than almost anywhere in the developed world. It doesn't have to be this way. We believe that inspirational teaching and leadership is key to helping every child succeed, regardless of their background. We support people like you to become inspirational teachers through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme (LDP) in schools across England and Wales.
The LDP is a salaried two-year programme encompassing high-quality training, supportive coaching, and a PGCE qualification. You'll retrain as a teacher in one of our partner schools, and whether or not you decide to remain in the classroom, the experience and skills you'll gain will change your life, and your pupils’. Hear from Nikhil Kapila who is currently in his second year on our LDP having come from a career as a parliamentary researcher. Of his new working day, Nikhil says "Teaching is incredibly fun, your colleagues are young children or young people and there’s no better work place to be than a school. Out of school hours often feel like an anti-climax". Make an early application for the 2017 cohort today and give yourself the time to prepare for your new career beginning in June 2017.
