Opened in November 2013, DP World London Gateway is the UK’s newest, major deep-sea container port adjacent to Europe’s largest logistics park. Owned and operated by DP World and situated on the north bank of the River Thames, DP World London Gateway provides unrivalled deep-sea shipping access to the largest consumer markets in the UK.
The port's location, with its superior operational systems and service, ensure ships load and unload as fast as possible, making DP World London Gateway a world class asset for the UK.
The park’s location, adjacent to the port – with consent for more than nine million sq ft of industrial and logistics space – is owned, developed and managed by DP World London Gateway. It will enable occupiers to fully utilise the unique market centric location and significantly reduce their supply chain costs and CO2 footprint.
DP World has a portfolio of more than 65 marine terminals across six continents, including new developments underway in India, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Container handling is the company’s core business and generates more than three quarters of its revenue. In 2014, DP World handled 60 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent container units). With its committed pipeline of developments and expansions, capacity is expected to rise to more than 100 million TEU by 2020, in line with market demand.
DP World has a dedicated, experienced and professional team of over 36,000 people serving its customers around the world, and the company constantly invests in terminal infrastructure, facilities and people to provide quality services today and tomorrow, when and where customers need them.
We recognise that our success is enhanced by the diversity of our people. We have active equal opportunities polices that support our drive towards a culture of diversity, inclusion and equality. We believe it is important to help unleash the talent and potential of everyone working at DP World and the rich and diverse mix of backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, skills and knowledge is a major contributor towards our continual business success and performance.
As a major employer and contributor to the communities in which we operate it is important to us that we attract local talent that work with us to build a sustainable future.
